The Government of Madhya Pradesh (MP) will conduct Madhya Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (MPTET) for the aspiring teachers in the state of Madhya Pradesh. The MPTET 2011 will be conducted by the Depart of School Education as per the formalities and procedures devised by the National Council for Teacher Education / Central Board of Secondary Education (NCTE / CBSE) and in the lines of Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET). Here, we are providing basic details of Madhya Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test such as exam structure, nature of the question papers, eligibility, qualifications and application procedure:
Now it is mandatory for the B.Ed. candidates to qualify in the MPTET to be eligible and compete for teacher jobs in Government, Aided and Private schools. The MPTET is targeted to test the basic teaching aptitude and relevant skills of the candidates aspiring to become teachers at primary and uper primary school levels in the state. Following are details of MPTET 2011:
Eligibility for MPTET: Candidates should have passed in B Ed course with required percentage of marks. The conditions of eligibility may vary based on the norms and terms formulated at the state level. Validity and weightage of the MPTET score also will be decided by the MP State Government.
Exam Structure of MPTET: Madhya Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test will have 2 question papers. All the papers will be objective multiple choice type only. Each paper will contain 150 MCQs and each question carries 1 mark.
Paper I: Appear for this paper, if you want to be eligible to teach for classes I-V.
Paper II: Appear for this Paper if you want to be eligible to teach for classes VI to VIII.
Paper I and II: You can appear for both papers if you want to be eligible for teaching from Class I to VIII.
Syllabus of the MPTET 2011: The MPTET syllabus consists of five Subjects / Sections in Paper I. There will be 30 objective type MCQs in each section. Duration of the MPTET is 90 minutes for each paper. Following are the subjects covered in Paper I:
1. Child development and pedagogy
2. Language I
3. Language II
5. Environmental studies
Nature of the question papers, subjects and weightage for TET in various states differ according to the requirements. The qualification of MPTET is mandatory for those candidates aspiring to become teachers in the state of Madhya Pradesh.
