The Andhra Pradesh Administrative Tribunal has stalled the recruitment process for the posts of CDPO (Child Development Project Officers) in AP women and child welfare department of Govt. of Andhra Pradesh. The Administrative Tribunal has ordered the Government to file the counter on the petition filed by a male aspirant challenging the decision to reserve all the posts to women candidates only.
The APPSC has recently issued the CDPO recruitment notification for 261 posts and the the process of online submission of applications is going on as the commission has extended the last date. G.Kishan of Medak has gone to the Administrative Tribunal rising reservations on allocating all the posts to only women candidates.
The petitioner argued that 100 percent reservations for women candidates is illegal and also clarified that all the related recruitments before and after 2004 have given opportunity to male candidates.
The interim orders of the Tribunal have stopped the recruitment process. The next hearing will be taken up after the Government files its counter petition.
