UPSC Deputy Directors for ESIC - Exam Scheme and Syllabus

UPSC will conduct a written examination for the posts of Deputy Directors (Administration / Insurance / Training etc.) in the Employees State Insurance Corporation. Following are details of the Scheme of the Test and Syllabus for the written examination. Examination will be held in Bhopal, Kolkata, Delhi, Dispur (Guwahati), Chennai, Nagpur, Lucknow, Jammu and Port Blair. Intimation about the allotted exam center will be sent to the candidates in due course. There are 36 posts in total. The written examination will be held on 4th March 2012 from 10 AM to 12 Noon.

Scheme of the test: There will be an objective type examinations with multiple choice questions. The examination will carry a maximum of 100 marks. Duration of the test is two hours. The test consists of Two Parts A and B. PART- A contains English and Part - B consists questions from General Ability. The question paper for Part - B will be set both in Hindi and English.

The standard and level of the question paper will such that a graduate of any Indian University or college shall be able to attempt and answer the questions. There will be negative marking for wrong answers. Every wrong answer will carry a deduction of one - third of the marks assigned to that question. If no answer is marked for a question, there will be no penalty for that question. Following is the syllabus for the test:

1) PART - A (English): This is intended to test the candidates understanding of English and workman like use of words.

2) PART - B: This is intended to test the general awareness of the candidates about Indian and International affairs including Current Affairs, Public Administration, Logical Reasoning and knowledge in Data Analysis, Statistics, Numerical Ability, Economics, Elementary Mathematics, General Science, Commerce, Human Resource Development including Training and Computer Applications.
