More VRO and VRA Posts through February 2012 Exam

Department of Revenue, Government of Andhra Pradesh is contemplating to recruit more VRO and VRA posts through the merit list of the earlier VRO and VRA notification for which examination was held in February 2012. There are 389 VRO vacancies after the latest recruitment. The Govt. is thinking of giving another opportunity to qualified but not selected candidates to be appointed as VROs and VRAs in the vacant posts. It is estimated that about 10315 VRO posts are vacant in the Revenue Department. Out of these 9645 posts will be recruited through direct recruitment. The selected candidates those recruited for 7235 posts through earlier notification will be joining in the duties from 1st May 2012.

Marks in the written examination are the only criteria being followed for VRO and VRA recruitment. About 10 lakhs candidates appeared for the written examination held on 19th February 2012. Out of these, about 8.5 lakhs candidates were competed for VRO posts and the remaining for VRA jobs. There were 1172 VRO posts in that notification. The authorities have prepared merit list based on the written examination. The list will be used for the recruitment of another 389 VRO posts. Earlier it was thought that there will be another VRO and VRA notification.

It is also estimated that about 2021 VRA posts are still vacant after the fresh recruitment in 2012. The Govt is also thinking of filling these posts through the earlier merit list of VRA examination. The Govt. may not issue fresh recruitment notification for these posts considering the logistics involved in the process. Hence those are in the merit list of February 2012 examination will get a chance for these vacant posts.
