The Punjab Police has launched its Constable Recruitment 2026 drive to fill 3,298 vacancies across the state, offering young applicants the chance to serve in one of India's most prominent state police forces.

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates who have passed 10+2 or Class 12 from a recognised Board are eligible to apply. For Ex-servicemen, the minimum qualification is Matriculation. All candidates must have studied Punjabi as a compulsory or elective subject at Matriculation level.
Age Limit
Minimum Age: 18 years
Maximum Age: 28 years
Age is calculated as on 1 January 2026. For Ex-Servicemen from Punjab, the actual service period in the Armed Forces is deducted from the age and the resultant age should not exceed the maximum limit by more than 3 years. Serving government employees have an upper age limit relaxed to 33 years.
Physical Standards
Minimum Height for Male Candidates: 170.2 cm
Minimum Height for Female and Transgender Candidates: 157.5 cm

Selection Process
Stage I: Computer Based Test with Paper-I and Paper-II
Stage II: Physical Screening Test and Physical Measurement Test

Salary
Selected candidates will receive a pay scale of Rs. 19,900 per month for the first three years from the date of joining, along with other allowances such as DA, HRA, and benefits as per Government rules.
