South Central Railway has released the SCR Apprentice Recruitment 2025-26 notification for engagement of 2,801 Act Apprentices under the Apprentices Act 1961 in various trades like Fitter, Electrician, Welder, AC Mechanic, Carpenter, COPA, Diesel Mechanic, Electronic Mechanic, Machinist, Painter, Motor Mechanic Vehicle, Industrial Electronics, and MMTM.

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must have passed 10th Class with minimum 50% aggregate marks and possess an ITI certificate in the relevant trade from an institute recognised by NCVT or SCVT. Engineering graduates and diploma holders are not eligible as they are covered under a separate scheme.
Age Limit
Minimum Age: 15 years
Maximum Age: 24 years
Age is calculated as on 11 April 2026. Relaxation is applicable as per Government rules.
District and State Eligibility
Candidates must belong to districts under the jurisdiction of South Central Railway — covering all districts of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh (except Manyam, Srikakulam, and Vizianagaram), and select districts of Maharashtra including Akola, Amaravati, Aurangabad, Beed, Chandrapur, Hingoli, Jalna, Latur, Nanded, and Nasik.
Selection Process
Selection is based on a merit list prepared on the average of 10th marks and ITI marks. There is no written test or viva-voce. If two candidates have equal marks, the one with higher age is preferred. If age is also equal, the candidate who passed matriculation earlier gets preference.

General Category: Rs. 100
Exempted for SC, ST, Female, Transgender, and PwBD candidates.
Stipend
Stipend is paid at prescribed rates as per Railway Board instructions during the apprenticeship training period.
How to Apply
Visit the official South Central Railway website and go to About Us then RRC-SCR to find the Online Act Apprentice Application link. Register by selecting state and district, upload address proof, enter a valid mobile number and email ID, create a password, and verify OTPs sent to mobile and email. Also register on the NAPS portal at apprenticeshipindia.gov.in to obtain your RDAT registration number before completing the application.
